Software AG gets all in on AWS
Software AG announced that it will move its entire cloud portfolio to Amazon Web Services Inc. (AWS) as part of its new initiative “Transformation to the Cloud”, which aims to help businesses identify and implement the best cloud strategies.
“Software AG has chosen AWS as its strategic, global [Infrastructure-as-a-Service] IaaS provider as it is the clear market leader both in size and brand awareness among large-scale enterprises and due the resulting excellent operational efficiencies,” the company said. AWS offers the greatest geographical coverage, significant savings on external IaaS services, and lower certification costs.
The German software giant, a huge company, provides Big Data, integration, and business process technologies to customers.
The company announced that it will be moving the rest of its cloud portfolio to Amazon in the coming year, using its ARIS Cloud and Alfabet Cloud product suites, which are used for IT planning, portfolio management, and business process analysis.
Being added to AWS will be webMethods Integration Cloud, an integration Platform-as-a-Service (iPaaS) for cloud-to-cloud migrations, and webMethods AgileAppsCloud, a Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering for developing situational and case-management apps. Terry Wise, AWS executive, stated that leading independent software vendors are now looking for IT solutions that will allow them to move quickly and reduce costs while better serving their customers. Software AG is an example of a pioneering software vendor that has jumped all in on AWS to take advantage of our secure, robust infrastructure platform and expand global footprint to create highly differentiated, value-added products for their customers.
