How to prepare for the OCPJP Exam

Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programer :
This certification is for programmers who have mastered the Java programming language. This certification proves that one can create Java technology apps that run on both desktop and server systems using J2SE 5.
Candidates must pass one exam to be certified. You do not need to be a Certified Java Associate before taking this exam.
There are many ways you can prepare for this certification. If you are interested in self-study, the traditional buy-a-book method is best. You can also use the second-hand, or used book, approach. Many people don’t feel the necessity to keep these books after passing the test. You can also use online exam simulators for free or for a fee. These simulators allow you to simulate the exam format before you take the real thing. You can also participate in forums that allow you to meet people who are trying to get this certification, or share your experience.
You should practice solving problems that involve the new features. You will be able answer the questions on the exam if you have enough practice. Your background and experience with Java technology and programming languages generally will determine how much time you spend on preparation.
